Flag Dessert Flatbread

I created this amazing dessert pizza for the Fourth of July, but you can serve it for Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, or change the fruit and serve it any time. It’s amazing.

Dessert is almost never “healthy,” but this is a healthier option than many.

Flag Flatbread

Makes 6 slices

1 plain naan flatbread

4 ounces mascarpone cheese (half a regular container)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup, plus 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

1/3 cup blueberries

3/4 cup sliced strawberries

Note: Naan comes in packs of two and you only use half a container of mascarpone cheese in this recipe, so you can easily double this dish.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Bake the naan for 5 minutes. Remove and cool for at least 20 minutes.

In a bowl, stir together the mascarpone cheese, vanilla and powdered sugar, until smooth. Spread the mixture on the cooled naan (the cheese will melt and run off if the crust is not cooled first).

Slice strawberries into desired thickness or shape to make a flag.

In one corner, place your blueberries. Then use the sliced strawberries to make stripes. Note: you can also use whole raspberries instead of strawberries.

Cut into six slices and serve.
